Sea freight - open new doors for your comfort

In the modern world of trade and transportation, shipping services through the ocean are responsible for more than 90% of global transactions. About 20 million cargo ships and containers float on the water every day. Ocean freight is able to take products to different destinations regardless of weight and size.

Manufacturers today use raw materials that may be sourced around the world. For this reason, companies prefer to choose the safest, cheapest and most practical method of shipping to maintain their credibility and their supply chains. This option can be the best and most cost-effective option for you if you constantly need to transport heavy goods. This type of freight forwarding is suitable for that are less perishable, vehicles, raw material, fuels, pipe and machinery.

Sea freight shipping is suitable for two types of cargo: general and bulk.

Bulk goods are usually divided into two categories: dry bulk (Iron ore, seed, sand) and liquid bulk (petroleum, chemicals, vegetable oil) that usually shipped by tanker. Also, other types of bulk cargo such as break-bulk or neo-bulk are available. Break-bulk cargo is basically cargo with non-container packing. On the other hand, paper, automobiles and lumber are classified as neo-bulk cargo.

Ocean freight is one of the cheapest types of freight among shipping services. Any transport of more than 10,000 can be expensive by other ways but not by sea. Because its cost is more reasonable.

It does not have complete and accurate tracking. When your goods leave the port, we can’t track it until they reach the next port.

Lengthy Process

There are 3 options are available when you decide to choose sea freight shipping:

A) FCL- full container load

You can carry your shipment in 20 ft or 40 ft containers. When using this service, you have fully rented a container and you can’t share the interior with anyone. Be aware that if your cargo is small or small and does not take up all the space in the container, some space will be wasted. Because you pay the full cost of the container even if it is half empty. This type of container is suitable for very large goods that occupy the entire space or very sensitive goods that you do not want to share with another product.

B) LCL-Less than Container Load

In this method, you have a part of the container. Several products are collected from different customers and loaded in one container. In this case, you have no information or authority about other goods.

C) Groupage or consolidation

If the destination of several customers is the same, the company can collect the goods and load them in one container. But they are kept in storage until there are enough goods to fill a full container. This method is more cost effective but needs more time. Suitable if you do not have an exact delivery date. It is more cost effective than LCL.

With proper freight transportation, suppliers can connect to the global trading market and serve their customers properly. There are many freight forwarder companies that can help you.
