Saddle Creek Logistics Services is expanding its warehouse footprint by more than 1.8 million square feet in the next year with four new facilities, the 3PL told Supply Chain Dive in an email.

The facilities aim to support e-commerce growth, and will be equipped to handle one- to two-day deliveries as well as feature automation and robotics, according to a June 1 press release.

The multi-client distribution centers will be located in four key markets in an aim to reduce transit times and ensure more cost-effective deliveries, according to the release. Locations include Walton, Kentucky; Joliet, Illinois; Myerstown, Pennsylvania; and North Las Vegas, Nevada.

Saddle Creek’s Kentucky and Illinois facilities are currently open, with the Pennsylvania location set to begin operations in July. The 3PL’s center in Nevada is currently under construction and is expected to open in early 2024, according to the release.

“With continued ecommerce growth and tightening warehouse capacity, we have become more speculative,” Duane Sizemore, Saddle Creek’s senior vice president, marketing and business development, said in an email. “Investing in shared-space facilities in strategic markets now enables us to be even more responsive as needs arise.”

Saddle Creek’s clients include beauty subscription company IPSY/Boxy Charm beauty products, Kuru Footwear, Humann functional foods and supplements, Bobbie infant formula and more.

The 3PL operates 50 other facilities across the country, Sizemore said. The additional facilities will increase Saddle Creek’s distribution center footprint to more than 33.4 million square feet.
